HOW TO ASK FOR ANYTHING FROM GOD (SECRET REVEALED)

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

God is our Creator, we are dependent on Him,

God owns everything, that’s why we should ask Him,

God can not only create, He can also save and redeem,

With God, you are the crème de la crème.

Pray to God the Father, and in the name of Jesus,

Pray through the Holy Spirit, who intercedes for us,

Pray that way, and you’ll be first, not last,

For all is possible in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

Ask according to God’s Word, which is God’s Will,

His Word calmed the waters, peace be still,

His Word shelters you, gives you every meal,

His Word is meant to save and bless, not to steal and kill.

For God to listen, confess, and repent your sins,

Ask consistently and be faithful to God by all means,

Be grateful for everything, the losses and wins,

Have faith in God, and you’ll mount on eagle’s wings

Is it possible to ask God for anything?

Matthew 7:7 (KJV) – “Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Why should you ask God?

1st Reason – God is our Creator, and all life is dependent on Him

Genesis 2:7 (KJV) – “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.”

The phrase “and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life” means our lives are dependent on God because He created us (Genesis 1:27). The breath of life that we have is His, and He is the only one who can decide when to give it and when to take it away. He did the work of creation, including the creation of human beings all by Himself (Genesis 2:1-2). He did not send an angel to create us. Therefore, God understands us more than we understand ourselves. He knows what we need and the right time and circumstances to give us what we want.

Genesis 2:1-3 (KJV) – “1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had made; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it He had rested from all His work which God created and made.”

Creation is God’s work, which He made. God created the world in six days and rested on the Sabbath, which is the seventh day. The Sabbath points us to God as the Creator and makes us realize we depend on Him alone. Exodus 20:8 (KJV) – “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.” When referring to the Sabbath, the Bible says, “Remember.” As you go about the week, the Sabbath principle should be on top of your mind, and you should never forget that you depend on God in everything you do. Therefore, ask God for everything you need because He is your Creator.

2nd Reason – God owns everything

Psalm 24:1 (KJV) – “The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.”

Everything belongs to God (except sin). He owns our world, the entire universe. His ownership is bound on the fact that He created everything (Psalm 146:6). “Man cannot create; he can only manipulate what God has created. For instance, God created sand and rocks; man takes them and uses them to build a house.” – Pastor Randy Skeete. God created man and gave him a mind to think; man uses that mind and comes up with new inventions which in turn end up making new jobs.

Most times, we seek the wrong sources to get what we want. We seek the help of witches, wizards, and cults. We seek these sources to get riches, and redeem a lost property or spouse, among other things. It is foolish to do that because we seek sources that do not own anything. It is like asking a gatekeeper to give you what is in his master’s house, and he does not have the property’s right to ownership.

We can also liken it to those who have bought a piece of property from illegitimate owners only to realize they have been conned, eventually losing that property. Seeking the devil is positioning yourself to be defrauded because he does not own anything. He is just allowed to do his petty activities for a short season.

Matthew 4:8-10 (KJV) – “8 Again, the devil taketh Him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth Him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; 9 And saith unto Him, All these things will I give thee, if Thou wilt fall down and worship me. 10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and Him only shalt thou serve.”

Jesus Christ, when He was in this world, understood that the devil was attempting to scam Him and thus did not give in to his requests.

3rd Reason – What is impossible with man is possible with God

Daniel 2:10-11 (KJV) – “10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man  upon the earth that can shew the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler, that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean. 11 And it is a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can shew it before the  king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.”

Take note that for a King to call you to perform a specific action, you must have the best credentials in the land. King Nebuchadnezzar called the best wizards, magicians, astrologers, etc., to tell him what his dream was and what it meant, but they could not do that despite being the best in Babylon.

Innumerable people think their problems can be solved if they connect to a particular person, for instance, a prominent person in power like a politician, a wealthy spouse, or even the president. We forget that these people are human, and their power is limited.

As we can see in Daniel 2:11, the magicians and astrologers acknowledged God as the most supreme and powerful. Despite the pride that he possesses, the devil recognizes God’s authority, but he always tries to lie to us.

The magicians, astrologers, and wizards could not fulfill the King’s desire. King Nebuchadnezzar did not give up. He called for Daniel, and Daniel, through the help of God, was able to tell the King what he dreamt and the meaning of that dream (Daniel 2:12-49).

Here we learn that what is impossible with man is possible with God.

Hebrews 11:11 (KJV) – “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age because she judged Him faithful who had promised.”

Sarah could not bear a child because she was barren; however, God promised her that she would have a child, and she did when she was past the age of giving birth. Despite having two impossible conditions (being barren and past age), she could bear a child because she believed God would do as He said. Sarah’s condition was impossible with man but not impossible with God.

Matthew 19:26 (KJV) – “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Notice Jesus did not say some things or most things. He said all things.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Anyone can do anything, not by their power but through the power of God.

The Most Effective strategies when asking God

1.      Ask God the Father

Prayers need to be explicitly directed to God the Father. There are many small fake gods; therefore, you must be very specific when praying to the supreme one. This is the first prayer key; address your prayers to the correct entity. You cannot write a letter to the accountant and expect the CEO to respond; you cannot write a letter to the school head boy and expect the principal to respond. If you doubt this logic, try writing a letter to the university chef and see if the Vice-Chancellor will respond.

Jesus led by example as He always prayed to God the Father.

John 17:1 (KJV) – “These words spake Jesus, and lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify Thee.”

Matthew 6:9 (KJV) – “After this manner, therefore, pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.”

Luke 22:42 (KJV) – “Saying, Father, if Thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not My will, but Thine, be done.”

2.      Ask in the name of Jesus

John 16:23-24 (KJV) – “23And in that day ye shall ask Me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you. 24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in My name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

Jesus said that all prayers need to be directed to God the Father in the name of Jesus. He told the disciples, “You have asked nothing in My name” He did not tell them, “You have not prayed.” The disciples might have prayed, but not in the name of Jesus.

John 14:13-14 (KJV) – “13And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

Because of Christ’s sacrifice, including His sinless life, voluntary death, and resurrection, God is willing to bless us. The profound grace that we enjoy is a result of the sacrifice of Christ.

The sacrifice of Jesus, which paid the penalty for sin, which satisfied the claim of God’s law, His sacrifice is the just cause why God can answer prayers.

Philippians 2:8-10 (KJV) – “And being found in fashion as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”

While praying in the name of Jesus, you need to understand what Jesus did and pray in His name based on that sacrifice he made for you. In Acts 19:13, some men tried to cast out a demon and said, ”We adjure  you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.”

It did not work; the demons beat them up and chased them away. It did not work because they mentioned Jesus based on someone else’s experience, not their own experience, meaning they did not believe in Jesus.

“To many Christians, Jesus is a nice man who lives in the pages of the Bible and not a reality in their lives.” – Pastor Randy Skeete.

You must believe in Jesus, feel His sacrifice, and pray in His name.

3.      Ask through the Holy Spirit

Romans 8:26-27 (KJV) – “26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit Itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because He maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

The Bible says that the work of the Holy Spirit is to fill in our weaknesses. Where there is a weakness in our souls, the work of the Holy Spirit is to fill it and convert it to strength so that God can hear our prayers. The Bible says that we do not know the right things to pray for, and the work of the Holy Spirit is to purify our prayer and make intercession for us according to the will of God.

4.      Ask humbly and earnestly

Numerous Christians approach God with a proud heart and self-righteousness. They ask God questions like, “Why do bad things happen to good people?” This question is very arrogant because the person asking assumes they are good. “There is no one righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10).

In Matthew 19:16, someone came to Jesus and called Him good. This is how Jesus answered in Matthew 19:17, “And He said unto him, Why callest thou Me good? there is none good but one, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Despite not sinning, Jesus was in this world of sin as a human being, and everyone born into this world has a sinful nature. Jesus always did the things that pleased God (John 8:29), but He was humble enough to say He was not good. Do not go to God as if He is indebted to you. God owes you nothing.

Joshua 7:6 (KJV) – “And Joshua rent his clothes, and fell to the earth upon his face before the ark of the Lord until the eventide, he and the elders of Israel, and put dust upon their heads.”

Joshua went to God humbly and sincerely, and the Lord showed him what was wrong with them. Many people pray as a routine simply because we have a schedule to pray every morning and evening.

We offer God praises which we barely mean. “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.” – Matthew 6:7 (KJV).

Some people abuse prayer by using vain repetitions, thinking we must repeatedly mention a matter for God to listen to our prayers. All we need to do is to approach God with humility and a sincere heart. Ask yourself, when was the last time you prayed sincerely? When was the last time you fasted?

James 4:10 (KJV) – “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He shall lift you up.”

5.      Ask according to God’s will

1 John 5:14-15 (KJV) – “14 And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He heareth us: 15 And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.”

If we ask God for anything according to His will, He will listen to us. How do you know the will of God? It is simple. The will of God must be in line with the Word of God. If it is outside the Word of God, it is not God’s will. For example, praying for someone to be saved is God’s will because He says in His Word that He wills none to be lost (2 Peter 3:9). God will do everything possible to save that person you are praying for.

On the other hand, someone may do you an act of injustice, and praying for that person to suffer the same is not God’s will because Jesus taught that you need to love your enemies (Matthew 5:43-48). He also said that you should not delight in your enemy’s calamities (Proverbs 24:17).

Praying to be successful to further the glory of God and to be a blessing unto His people is God’s will. Praying to be successful so you can command respect from those who despise you and treat you with contempt is not God’s will.

James 4:3 (KJV) – “Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.”

As we can see in James 4:3, the Bible says that God does not give you what you are asking for because you want to use it for your selfish desires. You ask for a promotion in your workplace so that you can build your house (nothing wrong with that) and be ahead of all your colleagues and friends (selfish desire). You ask God to give you a child, so your neighbors and friends can stop ridiculing you (selfish desire).

You ask God to give you an expensive car so your ex-girlfriend or boyfriend can regret leaving you (selfish desire). You ask for fame and prosperity so people can worship you and treat you like a god (selfish desire). You are asking amiss because you are not asking according to God’s will. When you ask anything from God, attach a spiritual purpose so that God can have a viable reason to answer your prayers. Be sure to fulfill that promise that you have given God.

God did not give Hannah a child until she told God that she would dedicate her son to be a prophet of God. After that promise, God decided to give her a child. Attach a spiritual promise to what you are asking for and make sure you fulfill it. Do not promise and fail to satisfy the promise, that will be playing with God. You may want to travel and therefore ask God to open a way for you to travel; God is asking you in return for what purpose? If God does not see a tangible reason, He may not grant you that desire.

Whatever you ask from God should not be for your benefit alone. It should be to the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31) and be a blessing to others (Philippians 2:3).

Daniel 2:48-49 (KJV) – “48 Then the king made Daniel a great man, and gave Him many great gifts, and made Him ruler over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the wise men of Babylon. 49 Then Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.”

Notice that after Daniel had been blessed, he considered his friends’ benefits. He was not selfish. He requested the King to give his friends positions as well. Do you care about others? Do you pray for others? Do you mention specific names when you are praying for people?

Be very specific when praying and attach a spiritual purpose to your prayer. Instead of saying, “God give me money so that I can help people,” be specific. For example, “God, if you give me this amount, I will pay school fees for a certain kid in a certain school.”

Prayers are potent if you quote God in His Word. Therefore you need to know the Word of God. For instance, if you have studied and conducted your exams with integrity, but the professor is refusing to grade your paper, go to God like this, “Father, you have said in Proverbs 21:1, “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: He turneth it whithersoever He will.” Father, the professor’s heart is in your hand, touch it and make him agree to grade my paper, amen.”

The reason why this is very powerful is that He says that His Word will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11). He also says that He has exalted His Word above all the names that He possesses (Psalm 138:2). God’s Word is sure than the rising of the sun. God’s Word is surer than what your eyes can see. Furthermore, God’s Word is God’s will.

6.      Confess and repent your sins

John 9:31 (KJV) – “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth His will, him He heareth.”

John 15:7 (KJV) – “If ye abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.”

“How shall a man be just with God? How shall the sinner be made righteous? Only through Christ can we be brought into harmony with God, with holiness, but how are we to come to Christ? Many are asking the same question as did the multitude on the Day of Pentecost, when, convicted of sin, they cried out, “What shall we do?” The first Word of Peter’s answer was “Repent.” Acts 2:37, 38. At another time, shortly after, he said, “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out.” Acts 3:19.” – Steps to Christ, Page 23.1, Ellen G. White.

“Repentance includes sorrow for sin and a turning away from it. We shall not renounce sin unless we see its sinfulness; until we turn away from it in heart, there will be no real change in the life.”- Steps to Christ, Page 23.2, Ellen G. White.

“There are many who fail to understand the true nature of repentance. Multitudes sorrow that they have sinned and even make an outward reformation because they fear that their wrongdoing will bring suffering upon themselves. But this is not repentance in the Bible sense. They lament the suffering rather than the sin. Such was the grief of Esau when he saw that the birthright was lost to him forever. Balaam, terrified by the angel standing in his pathway with drawn sword, acknowledged his guilt lest he should lose his life; but there was no genuine repentance for sin, no conversion of purpose, no abhorrence of evil. Judas Iscariot, after betraying his Lord, exclaimed, “I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood.” Matthew 27.4.”- Steps to Christ, Page 23.3, Ellen G. White.

“The confession was forced from his guilty soul by an awful sense of condemnation and a fearful looking of judgment. The consequences that were to result to him filled him with terror, but there was no deep, heartbreaking grief in his soul, that he had betrayed the spotless Son of God and denied the Holy One of Israel. Pharaoh, when suffering under the judgments of God, acknowledged his sin to escape further punishment, but returned to his defiance of Heaven as soon as the plagues were stayed. These all lamented the results of sin but did not sorrow for the sin itself.”- Steps to Christ, Page 24.1, Ellen G. White.

“But when the heart yields to the influence of the Spirit of God, the conscience will be quickened, and the sinner will discern something of the depth and sacredness of God’s holy law, the foundation of His government in Heaven and on earth. The “Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world,” illumines the secret chambers of the soul, and the hidden things of darkness are made manifest. John 1:9. Conviction takes hold upon the mind and heart. The sinner has a sense of the righteousness of Jehovah and feels the terror of appearing, in his own guilt and uncleanness, before the Searcher of hearts. He sees the love of God, the beauty of holiness, the joy of purity; he longs to be cleansed and to be restored to communion with Heaven.”- Steps to Christ, Page 24.2, Ellen G. White.

Before you ask God for anything, be sure to confess and repent. If you confess your sins, He is faithful and just to forgive you (1 John 1:9). True repentance is asking for forgiveness and changing your ways completely. The reason is that God cannot abide by sin. If God’s Words are in your heart and you are living a Godly life, John 15:7 says that whatever you ask from God will be given unto you because His Word will guide you on what to ask.

“The prayer of David after his fall, illustrates the nature of true sorrow for sin. His repentance was sincere and deep. There was no effort to palliate [p. 25] his guilt; no desire to escape the judgment threatened, inspired his prayer. David saw the enormity of his transgression; he saw the defilement of his soul; he loathed his sin. It was not for pardon only that he prayed, but for purity of heart. He longed for the joy of holiness—to be restored to harmony and communion with God. This was the language of his soul:- (Psalms 51:1-14).” – Steps to Christ, Page 24.3, Ellen G. White.

James 5:16 (KJV) – “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

7.      Ask Consistently

1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV) – “Pray without ceasing.”

When you are praying for something, you need to pray for it non-stop without giving up until you get it; often, we give up too quickly. In the parable of the lost sheep, “What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he finds it?”, Luke 15:4 (KJV). The keyword here is ‘until.’

In the wilderness of those days, the shepherd was risking lots of dangers like thorns, wild animals, and robbers. However, despite the dangers, he will not leave the wilderness until he finds that one sheep. While Hannah was praying for a child, she would go to the temple and pray consistently until the priest thought she was drunk (1 Samuel 1:13).

God may decide to answer your prayer immediately. Sometimes He may take time, but what to us looks like a delay is God’s right time. Sometimes, God may seem like He is delaying or taking time to answer your prayer so that you grow in faith.

Remember, Job kept praying to the Lord for restoration. The Lord kept him on hold until he prayed for his friends, then restored him immediately (Job 42:10). Some people feel that if they keep praying for something repeatedly, they are bothering God. That is not true. God’s thoughts and ways are not like ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). He will never get tired of listening to you.

8.      Be grateful for everything

Philippians 4:6 (NKJV) – “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

Always thank God for everything that has happened to you, good or bad. Sometimes, something tragic may happen to you but underlying that dreadful event is a blessing. Avoid worrying, avoid complaining. When you worry, pray no matter how small the circumstance you are worrying about may seem. If it is worth worrying about, it is worth praying about. When you are about to complain, pray too, thank God for the situation first, then ask Him to guide you through it.

1 Thessalonians 5:16 (NKJV) – “Rejoice always.”

Philippians 4:4 (KJV) – “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.”

The keyword in the above verses is always. Always means at all times, not just when things are going your way. Doing this will boost your level of positive thinking and attitude. A positive attitude is an exceptional intrinsic quality that few possess, as our minds are automatically geared to negativity (this is a result of sin).

Many get shocked when something good happens to them because they were expecting the worst. Most times, the good things surrounding you are more than the bad. You may have 99% good and 1% bad and fail to focus on the 99%, putting all your focus on the 1%. Hence your 1% ends up looking like your 99%.

C. Joybell C. says, “There is a magnificent, beautiful, wonderful painting in front of you! It is intricate, detailed, a painstaking labor of devotion and love! The colors are like no other, they swim and leap, they trickle and embellish! And yet you choose to fixate your eyes on the small fly which has landed on it! Why do you do such a thing?”

Focus on the bright things, and you will seldom see the dark and gloomy ones. Walt Whitman supports this by saying, “Keep your face always toward the sunshine – and shadows will fall behind you.”

Why should you be grateful for everything?

1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NKJV) – “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

This verse gives a very solemn and substantial reason. The sole reason you should appreciate whatever God brings your way is that His will prevails. We serve a God who can see beyond all closed doors, beyond the secret of secrets and the thoughts of every living creature. You may think a certain thing is best for you, but God deprives you of having that thing since He understands the harm it will cause you. God understands the end from the beginning. “The Lord is righteous in all His ways and holy in all His works.” – Psalm 145:17 (KJV). God is love (1 John 4:8).

As long as you are alive, His grace is sufficient for you. Therefore, be grateful if you are broke and do not know where you will get your next meal. If you have a relative languishing in the hospital with a dreadful illness as you pray for them, be grateful. You may encounter armed robbers, and they end up stealing everything from you, be grateful (they would have killed you).

You may encounter an experience where you have lost your job due to a false accusation, be grateful because the accusation would have been worse than it was. Be grateful because something good may come out of that accusation. Appreciate God at all times and ask Him to show you the way in whatever you are going through. He can make a way where there seems to be no way, just like He did for the Israelites when they crossed the red sea (Exodus 14).

He can make a way because He is the way (John 14:6). You may trust your path to the correct destination, but your path is wrong. God, in His love and mercy, takes you from the wrong path and puts you on the right path. “Sometimes it takes a wrong turn to get you to the right place.” – Mandy Hale, The Single Woman: Life, Love, and a Dash of Sass.

Psalm 37:4 (KJV) – “Delight thyself also in the Lord: and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

Be thankful and delight yourself in the Lord always. Do you enjoy God’s presence? Do you enjoy reading the Bible? Do you enjoy discussing Godly things? That is a powerful key in unlocking your blessings.

9.      Have Faith

Mark 11:24 (KJV) – “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

When praying, make sure there is absolutely no doubt in your heart. Doubting God is a severe sin.

Hebrews 11:6 (KJV) – “But without faith, it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.”

In the above verse, the keyword is must. To clarify the meaning, if you do not go to God to make a request (if you do not pray), you are not obligated to believe in Him. You can choose whether or not to believe. However, when you go to God, you have no option but to believe Him. In other words, the person who does not pray and the person who prays but doubts God are the same. When you are praying, believe that God is good, that He is just, that He is patient, that He is merciful, and that He wants the best for you.

Matthew 8:26 (KJV) – “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.”

Jesus’ disciples, even after seeing Him perform numerous miracles, were terrified when the sea started tossing. On that same day, Jesus performed mighty miracles like healing the leper, healing the centurion servant, healing Peter’s mother, and casting out demons.

The disciples would have remained calm because they had witnessed all those miracles. That is how most Christians behave. God, with His divine power, has taken you out of innumerable challenging situations, but you still doubt if He will be able to get you out of a problematic situation.

Faith is mighty because, with it, you can do more outstanding works than Jesus did in this world (John 14:12). Without it, it is impossible to please God. Our prayers fail to get answered mainly due to a lack of faith.

How to exercise faith:

“How to exercise faith should be made very plain. To every promise of God, there are conditions. If we are willing to do His will, all His strength is ours. Whatever gift He promises is in the promise itself. “The seed is the word of God” (Luke 8:11). As surely as the oak is in the acorn, so surely is the gift of God in His promise. If we receive the promise, we have the gift.” – Ye Shall Receive Power, Page 196.4, Ellen G. White.

“Faith that enables us to receive God’s gifts is itself a gift of which some measure is imparted to every human being. It grows as exercised in appropriating the Word of God. To strengthen faith, we must often bring it in contact with the Word.” – Ye Shall Receive Power, Page 196.5, Ellen G. White.

How do you grow your faith?

It is effortless. You grow your faith by having a relationship with God. The closer you are to God, the more faith you will possess. The way to develop that closeness with God is through constant prayer and solemn study of the Bible. Study the Bible more seriously than you study for academic examinations. To have a clearer understanding of faith, read the whole of Hebrews 11 and meditate upon it. Read it slowly and microscopically, examine every phrase, Word, and punctuation mark closely, and ask God’s Spirit to guide you. Moreover, the Spirit of God will reveal truths you had no idea about.

In conclusion,

The question is, who is qualified to ask from God?

Matthew 11:28 (KJV) – “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”

The answer is everybody. You may be hopeless, and the devil lies to you that he has locked you completely. The truth is, there is always hope as long as you are alive. You do not have to be the best Christian to go to God. Go to Him just as you are, and He will do mighty works in you that your friends will not be able to recognize you. The plan of salvation is also a restoration plan.

MAY THE LORD GIVE YOU THE DESIRES OF YOUR HEART! GOD BLESS YOU ABUNDANTLY!

Read the Essay: Begin by reading the essay titled “Is it possible to ask God for anything?” to refresh your memory on the key lessons and principles discussed.

Self-Reflection: Take a moment to reflect on your own prayer life. Consider the following questions:

  • Why do you personally believe it’s important to ask God for what you need?
  • Are there areas in your life where you need to confess and repent of your sins?
  • Are there specific things you’ve been asking God for, and how can you apply the principles of consistent prayer, humility, and gratitude to these requests?

Action Plan: Create a simple action plan for your prayer life based on your reflections. This can be a short list of steps you intend to take to improve the effectiveness of your prayers. For example:

  • Schedule regular, dedicated prayer time each day.
  • Make a list of specific prayer requests aligned with God’s will.
  • Express gratitude for both blessings and challenges in your prayers.
  • Identify areas where you need to confess and seek forgiveness.

Prayer: Close this short activity with a brief prayer. Pray for guidance and strength to implement your action plan and to deepen your relationship with God through prayer.
