Get Truth Get Life

No VIP access to God’s loving heart,

God loves you whether you live in a mansion or a hut,

With faith in God, we should play our part,

Faith unites us with God, making things not fall apart.

In the eyes of God, we stand the same,

No privilege of birth, no worldly fame,

Obedience to God erases all shame,

God’s power brings change and makes you never be the same.

It matters not your race or name,

Your status, wealth, or earthly claim,

God wants us all to win the game,

To save us all, Jesus came.

No scales of gold can weigh your worth,

No Maybach, no Range, no Bentley, no Wraith,

No physics, no chem, no biology, no math,

It can give you access to the new heavens and earth.

No titles, riches, or ranks on high,

Can buy you respect from the Most High,

No money, no jewel, no girl, no guy,

The treasures of God, nothing can buy.

Hebrews 11:28 (KJV) – “Through faith he kept the passover, and the sprinkling of blood, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.”

This verse is an essential text for those who say we can freely sin and break God’s commandments since we have been saved by grace, while the Bible clearly says in Romans 6:1-2 (KJV), “¹ What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? ² God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” It also says in Romans 6:12 (KJV), “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” Again it says in Romans 6:15 (KJV), “What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.” Take note that all these texts are in the New Testament and were written after the death of Jesus.

Moses understood who God is. He also understood that they (the Israelites and him) had obtained God’s favor not by their good deeds but as a result of the grace of God. However, he did not take that opportunity of grace to disobey God and do whatever he wanted. He understood that the same God who destroyed the firstborns of the Egyptians could do the same to them despite being under grace.

He also understood that God is not a respecter of persons (Acts 10:34). Moses experienced this when he was denied entrance to the promised land due to sins that most Christians of today would consider ‘too minor’ despite following God and leading His people for all that time.

To express this more clearly, let’s go to the story of the sprinkling of blood in Exodus 12. In Exodus 12:13, the Bible says, “And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you when I smite the land of Egypt.” For God not to destroy them, He had to see the blood on the doors. This means that if an Egyptian person had sprinkled blood on their doors, God would have spared them from that tragedy.

Even if you are an atheist, you are blessed if you do things God’s way. That is exemplified well in Hebrews 11:31 (KJV), “By faith, the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.” Rahab hailed from the people that God was going to destroy, but God saved her and her family from that destruction because she did things God’s way. Just like Moses, she understood who God was and His infinite divine power.

Exodus 20:8-10 (KJV) – “⁸ Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. ⁹ Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: ¹⁰ But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates.”

When giving the Sabbath commandment, God commands the strangers to observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. The word stranger means foreigners or unbelievers who are custodians in a believer’s home or city. If an unbeliever rests from work on the Sabbath and joins Christians in fellowship, They will get the blessings of the Sabbath.

This concept is seen In Joshua 2:10-11 (KJV) – “¹⁰ For we have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red sea for you, when ye came out of Egypt; and what ye did unto the two kings of the Amorites, that were on the other side Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom ye utterly destroyed. ¹¹ And as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the Lord your God, he is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.” Rahab heard, and just by hearing, she obeyed God with fear. She did not wait to see because God would have destroyed her with the rest of the people if she had waited. “Blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.” – John 20:29.

Some people have gone to church, listened to sermons, and engaged in Bible study but still don’t believe the Word of God. Brothers and sisters, it’s high time to act with fear, just like Rahab, Moses, Noah, and many others, before it’s too late. Exodus 19:4 (KJV) says, “Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians” God is trying to tell the Israelites, “You have seen with your eyes what I can do to those who don’t believe in Me.” God was telling them to act with fear and do the right thing, lest He does the same to them or worse. God is telling us the same thing today.

“God is no respecter of persons, but in every generation they that fear the Lord and work righteousness are accepted of Him, while those who are murmuring, unbelieving, and rebellious will not have His favor nor the blessings promised to those who love the truth and walk in it. Those who have the light and do not follow it, but disregard the requirements of God, will find that their blessings will be changed into curses and their mercies into judgments. God would have us learn humility and obedience as we read the history of ancient Israel, who were His chosen and peculiar people, but who brought their own destruction by following their own ways.” — Counsels on Health, Page 141.2, Ellen G. White.

True Christianity is more than merely going to church

It is yielding your life fully to God and being transformed by the Savior’s touch

It is trusting in God to correct every patch

Christianity is more than a title

It is following everything that’s written in the Bible

Being born into a Christian family doesn’t make you one

There needs to be continuous surrender and submission to the Holy One

The Bible promises if we resist the devil from us, he will indeed run

Friends, it’s time you understood who God is and what He can do. Get saved before it’s too late.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we delve into your Word, we are reminded of the unwavering faith of Moses, Rahab, and countless others who understood the depth of your grace. They recognized that your mercy does not grant us a license to sin freely but rather a profound opportunity to live in accordance with your will.

Just as Moses understood that the blood on the doors spared the Israelites from destruction, please help us to comprehend the significance of obedience and faith in our lives. May we not take your grace for granted, knowing that disobedience has consequences even for those under grace.

We acknowledge, Lord, that you are no respecter of persons, and as your Word reminds us, those who fear you and work righteousness are accepted by you. We humbly ask for the wisdom and strength to align our lives with your truth, to walk in obedience, and to fear you in all our ways.

May we not merely wear the title of Christianity but be transformed by your grace, trusting in your guidance to lead us away from sin. Let our lives be a testament to your power and love.

In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray, amen.

1. Take some time to reflect on the essay’s message about the importance of obedience, faith, and the fear of the Lord in the life of a Christian.
2. Consider your own life and your relationship with God. Are there areas where you may have taken God’s grace for granted or neglected obedience to His commandments?
3. Write down two or three specific areas to make improvements in your faith and obedience.
4. Set achievable and measurable goals for each of these areas. For example, if one area is to spend more time in prayer and reading the Bible, set a specific goal, like reading a chapter of the Bible and spending 15 minutes praying every day.
5. Share your goals with a trusted friend, family member, or fellow believer. Accountability can help you stay on track.
6. Begin implementing these goals in your daily life, consciously growing in faith, obedience, and a healthy fear of the Lord.
