KEY TEXT: Joshua 3:7 (AMP) – “The Lord said to Joshua, “This day I will begin to magnify and exalt you in the sight of all Israel, so that they may know that just as I was with Moses, I will [also] be with you.”
One reason why God magnifies and exalts us publicly is so that unbelievers can know that He is with us and be saved. God called Abraham and promised to bless him so that he could be a blessing to the entire world (Genesis 12:1-3).
Jesus Christ has saved us by grace. As a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17), God wants us to adopt a new lifestyle. He wants us to set aside old habits and embrace a righteous transformation in our lives. He promises that when we integrate the way, the truth, and the life, He shall make us a peculiar treasure unto Him (Exodus 19:5).
“Humanity’s obedience can be made perfect only by the incense of Christ’s righteousness, which fills with divine fragrance every act of true obedience. The part of the Christian is to persevere in overcoming every fault. Constantly he or she is to pray to the Savior to heal the disorders of their diseased souls. They have not the wisdom and strength without which mortals cannot overcome. These belong to the Lord, and He bestows them on those who in humiliation and contrition seek Him for help.” — To Be Like Jesus, Page 53, Ellen G. White.
“God always honors the right. The most promising youth of every land subdued by the great conqueror had been gathered at Babylon; yet amid them all, the Hebrew captives were without a rival. The erect form, the firm, elastic step, the fair countenance showing that the blood was uncorrupted, the undimmed senses, the untainted breath—all were so many certificates of good habits, insignia of the nobility with which nature honors those who are obedient to her laws. And when their ability and acquirements were tested by the king at the close of the three years of training, none were found “like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah.” Their keen apprehension, their choice and exact language, their extensive and varied knowledge, testified to the unimpaired strength and vigor of their mental powers.” — Reflecting Christ, Page 141, Ellen G. When we keep the Sabbath (Isaiah 58:13-14) and when we obey all God’s commandments, all the blessings He has in store for us will come to us and overtake us (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).
Nobody would want to follow a God whose people are the most depraved in society. God wants to bless us so much that others can see how much He has blessed us and fully commit their lives to Him.
God does not want us to obey Him so that He can benefit. He wants us to obey Him so that we can benefit. God wants to bless the entire world through us. Therefore, let us faithfully follow His ways.

Prayer
Almighty Heavenly Father, thank You for Your desire to bless us so that we may be a blessing to others. Help me to walk in obedience, humility, and faithfulness. Magnify Your presence in my life so that others may see You through me. Strengthen me to follow Your ways and reflect Your righteousness daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

- Choose one area of obedience today.
- Pick one command or principle God has shown you, for example, keeping the Sabbath, being honest, helping someone in need, speaking kindly, or avoiding a harmful habit.
- Practice it intentionally for the entire day with the mindset: “I am obeying God so that He may shine through me.”
