IN HIS HAND

KEY TEXT: 1 Chronicles 29:12 (NKJV) – “Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.”

Let’s look at the phrase “in your hand.” God holds power in His hands. In His hands, He has the provision to make someone tremendous and the ability to give strength to someone, both mental strength and physical strength.

John 3:16 (KJV) – “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

What does the word ‘only’ mean in John 3:16? It means that God gave all that He has. God is a generous God.

Romans 8:32 (KJV) – “He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”

God’s generosity is incredible because He is willing to give us everything, and since He is a generous God, He will release everything He has to us if we are faithful to Him. Not just material gifts but also spiritual gifts, which are more important than the material because the spiritual produces the material.

Isaiah 58:13 (NKJV) – “13 If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the Lord honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, 14 Then you shall delight yourself in the Lord; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the Lord has spoken.”

“The Sabbath … is God’s time, not ours; when we trespass upon it we are stealing from God…. God has given us the whole of six days in which to do our work, and has reserved only one to Himself. This should be a day of blessing to us—a day when we should lay aside all our secular matters and center our thoughts upon God and heaven.” – In Heavenly Places, Page 152.2, Ellen G. White.

“But while we worship God, we are not to consider this a drudgery. The Sabbath of the Lord is to be made a blessing to us and to our children.” – In Heavenly Places, Page 152.3, Ellen G. White.

We shall witness more of the mighty hand of God when we keep the Sabbath day holy. We shall see more of God’s power in our lives when we follow Him, when we obey His commandments.

GOD BLESS YOU!

Prayer

Heavenly Father, I thank You for holding all power in Your hands. You are the source of strength, provision, and every good thing. Help me and teach me to trust You, knowing that You freely give to those who seek You. Help me to honor You in my life, and make me witness more of Your mighty hand at work. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Activity

  • Take a small piece of paper and write down something you need strength for, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual.
  • Then, place the paper in your open palm and pray, acknowledging that God’s hands are greater than yours.
  • After the prayer, release the paper into a safe place (like a Bible or a prayer journal) as a sign of surrendering your needs into His mighty hand.
  • Reflect on this act throughout the week, trusting that God will provide.
  • Share this message with someone.
